The method of lessons
My method needs TIME but guarantee the succes. Includes a lot of consideration that were collected from huge experiences I got during long time. The essences of it: - lead pupils to rebuild their confidence - teach they to think in systematyc and logical way.
The process of the course
The first lesson
The first lesson takes two hours and it includes four parts. My method includes a lot of consideration that were collected from huge experiences I got during long time. My earlier observations tell us that fear and lack of selfconfidence are one of the biggest obstackle of the performance of brain. If we elminate it you will see an unbeliveable develepoment that built in very strong basis.
The essences of it: - my first target is to lead pupils to rebuild his/her selfconfidence,
- teach him/here to think in systematic and logical way.
During the first lesson we find the way and agree how to do that. If we did it well a self generating rising spiral will start:
The more experience of success the more confidence the more efficient work.
Part A)
The first part is a conversation to get to know each other. I have a short list of questions about the circumstces and attitude of pupil.
Part B)
In the second part we do a general assesment; I take a few question and after that we solve a few excercises.
Part C) In the third part I reveale my findings and my evaluation. Parents asked to participate because we set the target. I have a small software that calculate the required weekly hours and also calculate a one year long workplan for participants of S.O.S. and Talent curse. For those who participate in the general remedial program, this is not necessary because we will follow the school curriculum. In the SOS program and in the talent development program. we carry out special extra excercises, too. We discuss it and finalize it.
Part D) In the last step we clarify conditions.
During the course
Rule A)
The biggest
emphasis is on the understanding. In general, the goal is not to have a quick
improvement in something, rather we give time to a well-founded and lasting
improvement.
Rule B)
I always make preparation in advance for every each lessons and pepare specific presentation for pupil. That is why two days before each lesson, or at the latest in the previous day you are kindly expected to send me an email what new materials were taught in the school and what curriculum was practiced at school in the past time. Of course, the material of the actual day does not need to be
sent in advance. If you have got not them in digital form a simple photo also acceptable.
(The reason of this is that I need it that I work out in advance the customized
way HOW to explain the actual matters. If it is necessary I also prepare some
special exercises and presentations. If I do not prepare this way we loose
valuable time when we can work together.) When the lesson is postponed I
send by email a worked sample for each topic with detailed explanation.
Rule C)
When it
seems to be too hard, I simplify the problem. If it is not enough, I simplify
further. The principle is that I am not going to think instead of pupil and particularly
not give the ready answers and solution; the pupil must find out himself or
herself HOW and WHY can he/she come to final solution.
During the
lesson, I constantly observe how the student gets tired and how much the task
burdens him. When necessary, we introduce a break or make the task easier.
Rule D)
The same
time I try to reach that student become more confident and brave. It is very
important because the fear blocks the brain and it is the biggest hindrance of
thinking. I take continuous attention the pupil actual mental status. I wish to
exclude negative feelings like for instance failure, to be defeated, inability.
Right in opposite way, draw pupil's attention to all small success and
progression.
Rule E)
Where quick
execution is required, we introduce special exercises. But we avoid overloading
and stressing the child.
